Monroe County Board of County Commissioners met Oct. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting of the County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 9:06 a.m. by Chairman Dennis M. Knobloch.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chairman Dennis M. Knobloch and Commissioner Vicki Koerber were present. Commissioner George Green was absent.

Others present included Deputy County Clerk Mia VanZandt, Sheila Wetzler, Scott Woodsmall with the Waterloo Republic-Times, Pat Kelly, Oak Hill Administrator Shari Kruep and Highway Engineer Aaron Metzger.

There were no public comments.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the following County bills and payroll for payment. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.

Motion by Commissioner Koerber to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting of October 3, 2022. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the Oak Hill Care Center Accounts Payable. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to appoint Neil Giffhorn to the Public Building Commission, replacing Dennis Rodenberg who has resigned, for a term of five years with a term to commence on October 1, 2022 and to expire on September 30, 2027 or until a successor is appointed and has qualified. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried. Resolution # 22-78

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to appoint Brent D Freeland to the Columbia Fire Protection District, replacing Michael Luhr who has resigned, for a term of three years with a term to commence on November 3, 2022 and to expire on April 30, 2023 or until a successor is appointed and has qualified. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried. Resolution # 22-79

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve a raffle license request from the Waterloo Sportsman Club for November 6, 2022, February 18, 2023, March 26, 2023 and November 5, 2023. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.

Shari Kruep presented the monthly Oak Hill Care Center Report.

Aaron Metzger appeared to discuss the Road District Financial books. Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the Road District financial data provided. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.

Aaron also presented miscellaneous highway items.

There being no further business, Commissioner Koerber made a motion to adjourn. Second by Chairman Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. Commissioner Green Absent. Motion carried.
