City of Red Bud Personnel Committee met Nov. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel, Kyle Donjon, Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker

Committee Members Absent:

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Rodney Nevois, Bill Hanebutt

Council Members Absent:

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller Committee Chairman DeMond called the meeting to order at 6:12 P.M.

Old Business

1. GovHR Wage Survey – Updated Timeline

Updated timeline was provided in the packet.

Mayor and Jeremy will be working with the company on the final written report.

Rheinecker inquired their impression with the results so far. DeMond commented that there are some changes. Benefits are one thing that we are good on when compared to other towns.

New Business

1. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – October 17, 2022

Recommendation made by DeMond, seconded by Piel, to approve the minutes from the October 17, 2022, meeting. Motion carried.

2. City Attorney Appointment

DeMond commented that there has been some discussion about Department Heads being appointed annually and the City Attorney is appointed to four-year terms.

Donjon would like to see the City Attorney appointment changed to an annual appointment. Schwartzkopf inquired if it was ever an annual appointment before.

Poetker provided some history on the appointment based on some research that was done. Changes were made during the term of Ken Mueller as Mayor.

Motion made by Donjon, seconded by DeMond to change the ordinance to an annual appointment for the City Attorney. Motion carried.

3. Bereavement Leavy Policy

Motion made by DeMond, seconded by Piel to have the City Attorney draft an ordinance for the Bereavement Leave Policy. Motion carried.

4. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

Meeting was adjourned at 6:17 P.M.
