City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Nov. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Rodney Nevois, Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker

Committee Members Absent:

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:17 P.M.

New Business

1. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – October 17, 2022

Recommendation made by Hanebutt, seconded by Nevois to approve the minutes from the October 17, 2022, meeting. Motion carried.

2. Departmental Activity Report

The monthly department activity report was distributed prior to the meeting. No questions.

3. Estimate for Repairs – B. Moeller Vehicle Damage

Motion made by Hanebutt, seconded by Donjon to approve the quote for Ruma Auto Body in the amount of $812.11 for damages to her car by the officer. Motion carried.

4. Authorization to Sell Surplus Items on GovDeals

Motion made by Hanebutt, seconded by Guebert, to authorize the sale of surplus goods on GovDeals.com. Motion carried.

5. Public Trespass Ordinance

Chief Brittingham has been working with the City Attorney on what can and cannot be done in parks and other public areas for people trespassing. City Attorney indicated that we can be progressive with the infractions.

Motion made by Haneubutt, seconded by Rheinecker to update the Trespass Ordinance. Motion carried.

6. Fire Department Updates

Kristy noticed some changes to make during the process of implementing the new ordinances. Information was sent to Fire Chief Sean Landgraf who made some additional changes that are acceptable.

Motion made by Hanebutt, seconded by Guebert to update Chapter 53 – Fire Department Ordinance. Motion carried.

7. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Meeting was adjourned at 6:22 P.M.
