Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met Jan. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. A regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M. on January 19, 2023

2. The President called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Paul Nehrkorn, Bill Yates, Greg Conway, Austin Marlow, Gideon Hutchcraft. Also present were the following people: Brian Pasero, Mark Rohlfing, Haven Hicks and Tyson Tanner.

3 Consent agenda - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Marlow to approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried.

4. Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

6.1 Freedom of information - No Request

6.2 Working Cash Bond - A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Conway to Approve the Resolution Declaring the District's Intent to Issue Working Cash Bonds in the Amount Not to Exceed $1,000,000 as Presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried.

6.3 Kindergarten screening - A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve Kindergarten screening for the incoming 2023-2024 class as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried.

6.4 Board meeting dates - A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve the presented board meeting dates for 2023. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried.

7. Superintendent report - Informational

8. Executive Session - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Marlow to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing: Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Marlow, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried. 5:08 pm.

8.1 The appointment, compensation, employment, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93-57)

8.2 Student disciplinary Cases (5ILCS 120/2(c)(11)

Coming out of Executive Session- A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Conway to come out of executive session. Roll call vote: Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Hutchcraft. Yes - 6 No-0. Motion carried. 7:12 pm

*Austin Marlow left meeting at 6:50pm.

9. Action items

9.1 Six-month executive session review - A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Yates to approve Resolution R 2023-1 authorizing the destruction of audio recordings of the closed meeting of the Pinckneyville School District #50, Perry and Washington counties, Illinois, conducted on or before June 30, 2021. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried

9.2 Employee Retirement - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Yates to approve the Retirement of Staci Louis with an Effective Date to be Later Determined. Roll call vote: Yes - Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No - 0 Motion carried.

10. Announcements, Dates and Events

Friday February 17: 12:30 dismissal

Monday February 20: Presidents day No School

11. Adjourn- A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Hutchcraft to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates, Hutchcraft. Yes - 5 No-0. 6:55 pm.
