Q4 2021 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Perry County?

There were nine offenders living in Perry County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SW Illinois News.

The data shows six men and three women were released in Perry County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 28. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2021, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2021.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Johni K. Johnson. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2020 when she was 37 years old. She is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2021 in each Perry County.
