City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Feb. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Rodney Nevois, Kyle Donjon 

Committee Members Absent: None 

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel 

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell 

Others Absent: Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker 

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:25 P.M. 

Old Business 

None 

New Business 

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – January 16, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the minutes from the January16, 2023, meeting. Carried 

II. Departmental Activity Report The monthly department activity report was included in the packets. 

III. Authorization to Order/Purchase a Vehicle and Corresponding Equipment Chief Brittingham submitted one bid each, for a Charger and a Durango. Brittingham prefers the Durango. The old car will be sold on GovDeals. There is a 6-8 month wait on the car, so he would like to order it and it will come out of the FY’24 budget. There was no objection to ordering the Durango. 

IV. Quote from Decatur Equipment for New Speed Trailer A quote from Decatur Equipment for a new speed trailer was submitted. This will come out of the FY’24 budget. No action taken. 

V. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City Committee Member Nevois asked about the cameras at each entrance to the city. Brittingham said he will get them in May, as they will be coming out of the FY’24 budget. 

The meeting was adjourned at 6:31 P.M.
