City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met April 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Rodney Nevois, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel

Others Present: City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:37 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – March 20, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the minutes from the March 20, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Departmental Activity Report

The March department activity report was included in the packets.

III. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Committee Chairman Hanebutt questioned the late warning for Saturday’s severe weather. Chief Brittingham said that dispatch contacts the police department when they receive a tornado warning from the National Weather Service. The warnings are meant for people outside to take cover. The late warning was due to the tornado that touched down in Hecker.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:41 P.M
