City of Red Bud Zoning Committee met May 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Alan Piel, Curt Guebert, Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Rodney Nevois,

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Kyle Donjon

Council Members Absent: Mike Rheinecker

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin. Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Piel called the meeting to order at 6:49 P.M.

Old Business

I. Comprehensive Plan

Code Admin. Mueller is looking for approval from the Planning Commission in June and then going out for RFQ in July, with interviews in August, of those who respond. Mueller is targeting six to seven companies.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Schwartzkopf, to authorize the Planning Commission to proceed with the comprehensive plan. Carried

II. East Industrial Park Expansion Project

Waiting on IDOT for review of the intersection design study.

III. City Hall Repairs Schedule

Mueller would like to start with waterproofing the exterior of city hall next month. This includes the windows and balcony.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting April 17, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the minutes from the April 17, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Committee Member Schwartzkopf questioned the old Keil’s Pharmacy updates. Mueller said that the pharmacy will be a drive-thru on the south side and possibly a Domino’s in the front.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:53 P.M.
