Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met May 30.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. A special meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M. on May 30, 2023.

2. The President called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Paul Nehrkorn (6:01), Austin Marlow, Michael Porter, Justin Martin. Gideon Hutchcraft and Aaron Johnson were absent. Also present were the following people: Brian Pasero, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Sarah Hutchcraft.

3 Consent agenda - A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Martin to approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Porter, Marlow, Martin. Yes - 4 No - 0. Motion carried.

4. Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

4.1 Public comment- Informational

5. Executive Session - A motion was made by Porter and seconded by Marlow to go into Executive Session for the purposes of discussing: Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Porter, Marlow, Martin. Yes - 4 No-0. Motion carried. 6:01pm. Nehrkorn arrives at 6:01 before Executive session begins.

5.1 The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93- 57

Coming out of Executive session: A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Porter to come out of Executive session. Yes - 5, No - 0; motion carried. 6:35 pm.

6. Action Items

6.1 Kindergarten teacher: A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Marlow to employ Katelyn Peradotto as Kindergarten teacher effective for the 2023-2024 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Porter, Marlow, Martin, Nehrkorn. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

6.2 Paraprofessional: A motion was made by Marlow and seconded by Nehrkorn to employ Mary Lynn Carns as a Junior High Paraprofessional @ $14.00/hour, 5.5 hours/day, not to exceed 29.5 hours/week plus retirement benefits for the 2023-2024 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Porter, Marlow, Martin, Nehrkorn. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

7. Adjournment: A motion was made by Porter and seconded by Marlow to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Roll call vote: Yes- Pursell, Porter, Marlow, Martin, Nehrkorn. Yes - 5 No -0. Motion carried. 6:36 pm.
