City of Red Bud Recreational Facilities Committee met June 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel Committee Members Absent: Jeremy DeMond

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker

Council Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker Committee Chairman Donjon called the meeting to order at 6:43 P.M.

Old Business

I. Ratz Park Renovation Project Update

Jeff Mueller said everything is going as planned. He did get an estimate for an on-site building, which will be cheaper than a precast building, and sent it to the architect for review.

II. Musket Facilities

A. Additional Lighting for Multipurpose Field

Nothing to report.

B. Building Repairs – Flooring and Window

Nothing to report.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – May 15, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the minutes from the May 15, 2023, meeting. Carried

II. Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – No June Meeting Nothing to report.

III. Purchase Trash Cans: Three (3) - Ratz Park and Two (2) - Sports Complex, $995.76 Each

Hanebutt questioned whether the city has some sort of identification on the trash cans. Eckart will look into this. Hanebutt also asked about the “other charges” on the proposal. The mayor will have Liz Cowell find an answer before the council meeting.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve the purchase of three trash cans for Ratz Park and two trash cans for the Sports Complex from UltraPlay, at an estimate of $995.76/each, contingent on an explanation for the “other charges.” Carried

IV. Replace Worn Grills with Family Grills - Ratz Park #4 (Ratz Anniv.), $413.95 Each Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the purchase of one grill for Ratz Park #4, at an estimate of $413.95, contingent on an explanation for the “other charges.” Carried

V. Add New Trees – Ratz Park, NTE $3,000 and Lincoln Park – NTE $3,000 with Fall Planting

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Piel to approve purchasing trees from Davey’s for Ratz Park ($3,000) and Lincoln Park ($3,000), NTE $6,000.00, with fall planting. Carried

VI. Trim Trees, Remove Dead Trees – Lincoln Park, Remove Dead Tree – Ratz Park - $7,950 Quote from R & N

The city will be doing the work that they are able to.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the estimate from R & N Outdoor Services, NTE $7,950.00 for tree removal at Lincoln and Ratz Park. Carried

VII. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Council Chairman Donjon thanked Tim Fahey and Jim Shields for the work they did to refurbish the snack stand and Matt Shields for repainting the pool flagpole; they did a fantastic job.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:51 P.M.
