City of Red Bud Planning Commission met Aug. 15.

The August 15, 2023 meeting and public hearing of the Red Bud Planning Commission was called to order by Chairwoman Andrea Letcher-Martin at 7:00 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Janet Braun, Jeff Hicks, Andrea Letcher-Martin, Larry Mehring, John Holzum, Robbie Aubuchon and Scott Voss.
CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Aldermanic Liaison of the Planning Commission: Alan Piel, Jeff Mueller: City Zoning Administrator.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None
OTHER ITEMS
Approval of May and June meeting minutes.
Jeff Hicks made the motion with Janet Braun as second. All approved and motion carried.
COMMENTS FROM ZONING ADMINISTRATOR
Jeff provided the board with RFQ packets for the Comprehensive Plan. Four packets were received, PGAV, Farnsworth, Heartlands-H3 Studio Team and Moran. After discussion it was decided the board will interview three of the candidates. Pros and cons of each company were discussed and the board decided to interview PGAV, Farnsworth and Heartlands-H3 Studio Team. Interviews will be conducted before the September Planning Commission meeting.
The September planning commission meeting will be moved to Wednesday, September 13th. Interviews will begin at 6:00pm, with 20-minute time caps, the Planning Commission meeting will begin at 7:30 pm after the interviews are completed.
Jeff also announced the name of the new Red Bud Business Park (RBBP) on the East end of town. Lots in RBBP are smaller than the current industrial park. Each lot has 50’ set back, Jeff will be requesting 50’ setback on the roadside and changing the setbacks to 25’ on sides and rear of lots. Those changes will have to come through the Planning Commission for a hearing if approved by council.
GOOD OF ORDER
John Holzum questioned charter of the Planning Commission and what recommendation / enforcement rights they have as a group. Jeff followed up with the charter as shown in the ordinance book.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was first given by Robbie Aubuchon and second by Scott Voss. All approved and meeting adjourned.
