City of Red Bud Public Works Committee met Sept. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker, Bill Hanebutt

Committee Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf, Kyle Donjon

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Megan Gilbreth, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller

Committee Chairman Guebert called the meeting to order at 6:55 P.M.

Old Business

I. Power Plant

A. Plant Report

Business as usual; started IMEA scheduled generating runs

II. Utilities/Streets

A. Electric

Nothing to Report

B. Gas

Nothing to Report

C. Water – Aerator Replacement Project

Continuing work with the contractor for the water plant project.

D. Sewer

Continuing to work with Korte on the filter media.

E. Streets

Nothing to report.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting August 21, 2023

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the August 21, 2023, meeting. Motion Carried

II. Request for Sewer Adjustment – 302 Charles Street

Recommendation made by Council Chairman Guebert, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to issue a sewer credit of $65.96, to Steven Heise at 302 Charles Street, for a sprinkler that was accidentally left running. The water did not enter the sewer system.

Motion carried.

III. Request to Bid for Truck #18 Replacement

Recommendation made by Council Chairman Guebert, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt to approve the request to bid for truck #18 (2001 Dump) replacement. Motion carried.

IV. Fieldstone Subdivision Phase II – Acceptance of Improvements

Recommendation made by Council Chairman Guebert, seconded by Council Member Rheinecker, to accept the improvements for Fieldstone Subdivision Phase II. Motion carried.

V. Recommendation to End Scott Becker’s Six-Month Probationary Period Effective September 27, 2023

Recommendation made by Council Chairman Guebert, seconded by Council Member Hanebutt, to end Scott Becker’s six-month probationary period, effective September 27, 2023. Motion carried.

VI. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

The meeting was adjourned at 6:58 P.M.
