State Representative David Friess is pleased to announce the launch of the Third Annual Toy Drive in his district. This initiative aims to bring joy to children in need during the holiday season by providing them with new toys.

Last year, the toy drive was a tremendous success, allowing numerous children in the district to experience the joy of Christmas morning with a new toy. Representative Friess and his staff were delighted to witness the smiles on the faces of these children. He emphasized, "No family should ever have to go without at Christmas."

Unfortunately, each year, hundreds of children in the district have minimal or no gifts to open on Christmas Day. Recognizing this issue, Representative Friess is calling on the community to come together and ensure that every child receives a gift this holiday season. He expressed, "Please help us keep this from happening."

In the first year of the toy drive, the community generously donated toys, which were then wrapped and distributed to families in Randolph County by retired educator Debbie Opel. Additionally, the House of Neighborly Service in Waterloo, Monroe County, under the guidance of Director Tina Charron, received donations. In the second year, Representative Friess extended the reach of the toy drive by adding Toys for Tots in Chester and the JCs in DuQuoin as recipient organizations.

This year, the toys collected will once again be donated to the same charitable organizations. Representative Friess is grateful for the community's generosity, as it will enable the expansion of the toy drive's reach to more cities and villages within the district. To participate, community members are invited to bring their donations to the district office located at 143 S Main Street in Red Bud, IL, 62278. The deadline for donations is December 13th at 4 pm to allow sufficient time for wrapping and delivery to each organization before Christmas. For any inquiries, individuals can contact the office at 618-282-7284.

Representative Friess concluded, "Show your Christmas Spirit and bring your donation to our district office. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of families this holiday season." He extended his gratitude and ended with, "Thank you, and God Bless."

The Third Annual Toy Drive organized by State Representative David Friess is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and bring joy to children in need during the holiday season. Let us all embrace the Christmas Spirit and make a meaningful contribution to this worthy cause.
