A. Domestic Violence Prevention Center – Proclamation to Designate October as Domestic Violence Prevention Month
Mayor Harbaugh read and signed the Proclamation designating October as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month.” Kay Clements, a 25-year volunteer with the Violence Prevention Center, whose high school age daughter was shot and killed by her boyfriend, gave some basic facts about domestic and dating violence. She goes to the local high schools to make students aware of domestic violence and that help is available. She also thanked the four Girl Scout units, who helped her tie the purple awareness ribbons on the trees and lamp posts.

A. Review of October Calendar
A special council meeting will likely be held after committee meetings on October 16, 2023.
B. Other Comments
Council Member Donjon noted that there is an article in the IML Review that Mayor Harbaugh has been named Vice President of the IML Board.
Jeff Mueller noted that the splash pad bids will be opened Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the utility office and he will email the results. He intends to add the recommendation to the special meeting agenda on October 16, 2023.
Council Member Schwartzkopf questioned the vandalism at the sports complex. Council Member Donjon said there was damage to the restrooms. The park board is discussing budgeting for cameras at the sports complex and Lion’s Park.
