City of Red Bud Parks and Recreation Commission met Oct. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Members present: Jim Birke, Tim Fahey, Ryan Koudela, Wil Krick, Deb Opel, Terri

Reed and Winnie Rehmer.

Members absent: Kyle Herriman and Brad Mayberry

Others Present: Alderman Kyle Donjon Alderman Jeremy DuMond, and Chief John Brittingham

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tim Fahey at 6:30 PM at Red Bud City Hall.

OSLAD GRANT

• Terri Reed, Jim Birke and Deb Opel gave a report on the Bid openings. We received one bid from GIVSCO Construction for $616,500 for the base, $14,800 (exercise equipment surface), and $24,000 (playground surface). Bids did not include any ‘toys’ for splash pad, restroom building, or equipment for exercise and playground.

• Bid is almost three times what was expected. We would need another $600,000 for completion.

• At the Bid opening meeting, Jeff Mueller reported that twelve companies requested packets for bidding.

• Jeff will investigate going out for bids again.

POOL

• No final report available from YMCA at this time.

LINCOLN PARK

• Lights at Pickle Ball Court need to be checked to make sure the timer is working.

• Dead and dying trees have been removed

• New trees will be planted

• Discussed cost of Porta Potties at Musket Field

• Discussed building another bathroom near the football field

RATZ PARK

• Howitzer M44 will be delivered this week.

• Bathrooms were painted but will need a second coat.

• WORK DAY- OCTOBER 14th, 8:00-11:00 posts along drive need painted, bridge needs resealed, creek needs cleaned out of trees and weeds

MUSKETS FIELD

• Homecoming this weekend.

• Bonfire will be between the football field and baseball field

SPORTS COMPLEX

• Chief Brittingham gave a report on the damages to the Sports complex and security.

• He reported that cameras could help but would need internet services.

• Wil said there is internet service there.

• If cameras were installed the police would be able to monitor.

• Tim will contact Secure One Security and get a bid.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

• no report

OTHER BUSINESS

• Discussed Dog Park

NEXT REGULAR MEETING November 1, 6:30 at City Hall.

Wil made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Deb seconded. Motion carried unanimously
