City of Red Bud Personnel Committee met Dec. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Kyle Donjon, Alan Piel, Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman DeMond called the meeting to order at 6:26 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – November 20, 2023 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to approve the minutes from the November 20, 2023, meeting. Motion Carried.

II. Paid Leave for All Workers Act – Ordinance No. 1533

Illinois passed a law requiring that all employees who work forty hours, will receive one hour of paid leave. There is a maximum of 40 hours that will be paid no matter how many hours are worked. This will give an additional sixteen hours of paid personal leave to full-time employees. Part-time employees all work less than 1,000 hours/year. Employees cannot cash this in.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman DeMond, seconded by Committee Member Donjon to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1533: “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE III, CHAPTER 41 OF THE CITY OF RED BUD CODE OF ORDINANCES 2021 PERTAINIING TO HOLIDAY PAY AND PAID LEAVE” and apply the necessary signatures. Motion Carried.
