Aledo Community Unit School District 201 Board met Jan. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER 

On January 11, 2024 at 5:35 p.m. President Hoover called to order the special meeting of the Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education.

Roll Call Members Present: Adina Hoover, Carlos Hevia, Kevin Marren, Leah Conover

Angela Steketee arrived at 5:46 p.m.

Whitney Rogers arrived at 5:51 p.m.

Members absent: Jessica Radogno

Also present: Superintendent Jack Baldermann

Pledge of Allegiance 

Adina Hoover led the Assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT 

No one presented public comment at this time.

INFORMATION and DISCUSSION

Board of Education and Administrative Team Workshop - Equity: An Educational Imperative with IASB Representative

Arlana Bedard and Natalie Williams, IASB Representatives, conducted a workshop with the Board and the following Administrators: Superintendent Baldermann, Nadine Norris, Carla  Bruan, Edith Courington, Tiffanie Torrisi, Anthony Ruelli, Samantha Sinovich, Lindsay Pietrzak, Jayda James, Amy  Quattrone, Michael Lipiniski, Kevin Weck, Adam Kordalewski, and Laura Lopez.

New AP Course Approval - WHS 

WHS is asking to add two additional courses in the 2024-2025 school year, AP French 4 and AP Spanish 4. The Board will be taking action on this request this evening.

ACTION ITEM

Approval of New AP Courses - WHS 

Motion by Ms. Steketee, second by Mr. Marren, to approve the AP French 4 and AP Spanish 4 to be offered at Westmont High School,  starting with the 2024-2025 school year, as presented.

Ayes: Conover, Hevia, Marren, Steketee, Hoover, Rogers

Nays: None.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Ms. Conover, second by Mr. Marren, to adjourn the January 11, 2024, special meeting of the Board of Education at 8:47  p.m.

Motion unanimously passed.
