Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Rodney Nevois, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel

Council Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:05 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – January 15, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the minutes from the January 15, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. Departmental Activity Report

The monthly department activity report was included in the packets.

III. FOP Negotiations

Chairman Hanebutt reported that the process for the FOP contract negotiations has begun. The current contract expires April 30, 2024. Attorney Barney Mundorf has been contacted to schedule a date to meet.

IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Chief Brittingham said he ordered the license plate readers on May 18, 2023, and they just arrived last week. They are not put up yet. Red Bud utilized another department’s LPRs, and two stolen vehicles were recovered. The utility department will install the LPRs.

The radar trailer was supposed to arrive by the end of the month. Brittingham talked to them today and told them that if the trailer is not here by the end of February, he will cancel the order and move on to order from a different company. Brittingham expects a return call tomorrow.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:07 P.M.
