City of Red Bud Public Works Committee met March 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker

Committee Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf, Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel, Rodney Nevois Council

Members Absent: None

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Guebert called the meeting to order at 6:38 P.M.

There being no quorum, the meeting was for discussion purposes only.

Old Business

I. Power Plant

A. Plant Report

Generation runs are per schedule. Urge testing will be done in July. The weekend power outages were due to squirrels in the transformers.

II. Utilities/Streets

A. Electric – IMEA Contract Extension

Ongoing, no update

B. Gas – UGM Long-Term Discount Program

Ongoing, no update

C. Water

Nothing to report

D. Sewer

Nothing to report

E. Streets

Nothing to report

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting February 19, 2024 II. Authorization to Fill Water/Sewer Technician Position

There are two applicants under consideration, but there is no recommendation currently. Eckart may have a recommendation for the April Council Meeting.

III. Authorization to Hire Parks Part-Time Laborer

Superintendent Eckart said he has a recommendation for the special council meeting to follow tonight’s committee meetings.

IV. IMEA/IPEA/IMUA Joint Annual Conference – Authorization for City Superintendent and Any Other City Official to Attend

Superintendent Eckart reported that this is a conference that he annually attends, which is free for him and any other City Official, who wishes to attend.

V. Training Request for Daniel Koester – IMEA Power Plant Seminar This will be on the April 1, 2024, council agenda.

VI. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None
