Red Bud, IL - State Representative David Friess recently organized a community work day at Lincoln Park in Red Bud, bringing together various organizations and individuals to give back to the community. The event, held on Saturday, April 20th, aimed to foster community spirit and highlight the importance of community service.

"This event was not just about painting park fixtures; it was about bringing our youth together and instilling in them the value of serving their community," expressed Rep. Friess. He added, "I’m immensely proud of the enthusiasm and dedication shown by all the volunteers."

Volunteers from the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, FFA, Beta Club, and young women aspiring to be future leaders in the community collaborated to beautify Lincoln Park. Together, they painted 75 parking stops, 65 parking posts, and the GaGa game pit, showcasing their collective efforts and commitment to enhancing the park.

The Women’s Leadership Initiative, spearheaded by Rep. Friess, is dedicated to organizing similar events in the future to promote community engagement and empowerment. As a gesture of gratitude for their hard work, Rep. Friess treated all the volunteers to pizza at the conclusion of the service day.

The work day at Lincoln Park not only improved the aesthetics of the park but also served as a platform for individuals from different backgrounds to come together and contribute to the betterment of their community. Rep. Friess' initiative exemplifies the positive impact of community collaboration and volunteerism in creating a more vibrant and connected society.
