City of Red Bud Zoning Committee met May 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Council Chambers (2nd floor)

Committee Members Present: Alan Piel, Curt Guebert, Jeremy DeMond, Rodney Nevois

Committee Members Absent: Ben Schwartzkopf

Council Members Present: None

Council Members Absent: Mike Rheinecker, Bill Hanebutt, Kyle Donjon

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf Committee Chairman Piel called the meeting to order at 6:11 P.M.

Old Business

I. Red Bud Business Park

A. Lot Pricing Worksheet

Code Admin./City Engineer Mueller explained the Lot Pricing Worksheet, which he had prepared. A total acre’s lot price is $92,359.98 versus a total buildable acre is $172,744.01. Premium and highway lot pricing were discussed. Committee Member Nevois will work with Mueller to produce a formula for premium lot pricing. Mueller will contact the person who showed interest in purchasing a lot, to see if they are still interested.

Eckart will update the gas and electric estimates.

B. Volkert Supplemental Contact

This contract is a NTE $15,000 and the city is agreeing to tell Volkert we are ready to start construction, put the construction documents together, get the permits and go out for bids this fall. Eckart said he waited three months for a permit he just received from EPA.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to accept Volkert’s revised contract, NTE $15,000. Carried

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting April 15, 2024 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the minutes from the April 15, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. City Hall Renovations – Bid Results

This will be on the council agenda, for further discussion.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Piel, seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve the low bid from KB Contracting, Inc., Waterloo, for a total bid of $228,642, including the base bid, alternate #1 and #3. Carried

III. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

The meeting was adjourned at 6:22 P.M.
