City of Pinckneyville City Council met July 22.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

GUIDELINES FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

Members of the public are welcome at City Council meetings and may address the Council during Public Comment. To have a specific matter placed on the meeting agenda, a member of the public requesting an addition to the agenda should contact the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the Council meeting and provide the City Clerk with sufficient information to allow the City Clerk to determine the nature of the agenda item. The Council requests that members of the public avoid repetitive appearances before the Council with the same issue. Comments should be limited to approximately five (5) minutes. Groups who wish to address the Council on the same or similar issues should select a spokesman to present the concerns of the group members.

CORRESPONDENCE

COMMISSIONER HICKS

1. Request from Perry County Backstoppers to collect at the four-way stop for their “fill-the-boot” collection on September 14, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

2. Request approval to add three firefighters to the Pinckneyville Fire Department roster: Richard Emling, Jeremy O’Dell, James Sroka.

3. Request flashing red light be attached to the Eastbound and Westbound stop signs located at the 4-way stop intersection of Walnut and Water Streets.

4. Accept resignation from James D. Gielow as Fire Chief upon retirement on July 31, 2024.

COMMISSIONER KUHNERT

1. Request approval to post a Notice of Bid for an Operator - Wastewater Treatment Plants and if no employees bid the position, to hire an Operator – Wastewater Treatment Plants. This is to replace the vacancy left by Michael Spence.

2. Request approval of a quote from Municipal Equipment in the amount of $5,500.00 plus freight for a new lift station pump or $3,079.38 to repair the current pump, to be paid from the sewer fund.

3. Request approval of a quote from Utility Safety and Design Inc. in the amount of $4,781.65 for the removal and replacement of two leaking valves on Blue Bunting Road to be paid from the gas fund.

4. Request approval of two quotes from Illinois Electric Works to refurbish two pumps: One in the amount of $2,480.00 to repair one pump; One in the amount of $13,460.00 for worst-case scenario to repair the other pump. These are to be paid from the water fund.

COMMISSIONER PERADOTTA

1. Ordinance No. O-2024-07, an ordinance to be placed on file to vacate a portion of South Duckworth Street within the City of Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois. (Replaces Resolution No. R-2024-27 tabled at the June 24, 2024, regular council meeting).

COMMISSIONER STOTLAR

1. Resolution No. R-2024-33, a resolution to be placed on file to accept a bid proposal from Security Alarm Corporation for a security camera system at the Pinckneyville Community Center.

2. Ordinance No. O-2024-08, an ordinance enacting and adopting a supplement to the Code of Ordinances for the City of Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois.

MAYOR SPENCER

1. Ordinance No. O-2024-06, an ordinance placed on file at the July 8, 2024, regular council meeting, approving and authorizing the City of Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois, to enter into an agreement granting visibility easement to the City of Pinckneyville, Illinois.

2. Resolution No. R-2024-34, a resolution to be placed on file authorizing the City of Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois, to enter into a lease of office space located in the Pinckneyville Community Center to the County of Perry, Illinois.

3. Appoint Ryan Summers to the Zoning Board.

4. Executive Session for the discussion of Section 2 (c) (2) Collective negotiating matters or deliberations concerning salary schedules.

5. Executive Session for the discussion of Section 2 (c) (6) Setting of a price for the sale or lease of property owned by the public body.

6. Executive Session for the discussion of Section 2 (c) (11) Litigation, pending or probable.
