City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met June 25.

A. CALL TO ORDER
The Park & Recreation Advisory Board meeting of the City of Columbia, Illinois held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 was called to order by Vice-Chairperson Lauren Darr at 5:00 P.M.
B. ROLL CALL & ESTABLISH QUORUM
Roll was called with the following attendance noted.
Members Present: Kathi Boyer-Edwards, Lauren Darr, Chris Grode, Matt Klopmeyer, Glenn Melching
Members Absent: Sarah Clarke, Becky Hunt, Jerod Merz
Quorum present.
City Staff & Officials Present: Mike Sander (Director of Public Works), Chris Smith (City Engineer), Alderman Lauren Nobbe
C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the Tuesday, April 23, 2024 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting were submitted for approval.
MOTION: It was moved by Member Melching and seconded by Member Boyer-Edwards to approve the minutes of the Tuesday, April 23, 2024 Park & Recreation Advisory Board meeting. Upon a roll call vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
D. PUBLIC INPUT
None.
E. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Discussion of Conceptual Dog Park
Discussion of conceptual dog park including fencing, items to include in the park and the requirement of a permit from IDNR since it is in the 100-year flood way.
2. Update on Creekside Park*
Mr. Smith updated the Board on the progress of the park. The Board was presented with color schemes for the playground surface.
It was moved by Member Melching and seconded by Member Kathy Boyer-Edwards to use gray as the surface color for the playground. Upon a roll call vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
F. NEW BUSINESS
1. Striping of Bolm-Schuhkraft Tennis Courts
Mr. Sander discussed the striping of the Bolm-Schuhkraft Tennis/Pickleball Courts.
It was moved by Member Grode and seconded by Member Melching to use blue to stripe the courts. Upon a roll call vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
G. STAFF REPORTS & COMMUNICATIONS
None.
H. ADJOURN
With no further business to discuss, Vice-Chairperson Darr entertained a motion to adjourn.
MOTION: Motion to adjourn was made by Member Melching and seconded by Member Boyer Edwards. Upon a voice vote, all members present voted yes. MOTION CARRIED 5-0
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
