City of Red Bud Finance Committee met June 17.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel, Ben Schwartzkopf, Mike Rheinecker, Bill Hanebutt

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Curt Guebert, Jeremy DeMond, Kyle Donjon Council

Members Absent: None

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Adm./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Nevois called the meeting to order at 7:07 P.M.

Old Business

I. Façade Grant Program

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Nevois, to approve authorization to fund the façade program, Proposal #1, as a one-year period program, using the CD interest of $60,851. Carried

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – April 15, 2024 & May 20, 2024 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nevois, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the April 15, 2024, and May 20, 2024 (No Quorum), meeting. Carried

II. CD Information

A. Maturing CDs and Investments

Nothing to report.

III. Financial Dashboard

Chairman Nevois noted that there is nothing to report, as the city is one month into the new fiscal year.

IV. MRTD Go Local Program

Mark Berry and Jessica Schlimme presented the FY’23 & ‘24 Statistics and requested FY’25 Go Local Sponsorship at a cost of $3,684, based on census. Recommendation made by Committee Member Rheinecker, seconded by Committee Member Piel, to approve authorization to sponsor FY’25 Go Local at $3,684. Carried

V. Energy Transition Community Grant Application

Administrative Officer Landgraf said she is in the process of applying for a $68,000 Energy Transition Community Grant to benefit the Red Bud Business Park. There were several people in attendance in support of the grant, which is due in July. This is an annual grant ongoing until the closing of the Baldwin Power Plant.
