Discussion/Information
EOSullivan Presentation - Community Engagement Sessions/Survey Data Review
Collin Corbett with EOSullivan presented the data from the engagement sessions and community surveys conducted over the last several weeks within the community for CUSD 201. The community was contacted and invited to multiple engagement sessions which took place at Manning and included one virtual session. The community was also contacted via a phone survey. All the information Mr. Corbett reviewed is available on the website and in BoardDocs.
The data indicates that the community is supportive of improving the schools but had concerns over the higher funding levels and the tax impacts. There is strong support for long-term solutions for infrastructure and safety.
Mr. Corbett, Robin Randall, Director of Learning with Legat Architecture, and Joe Papanicholas, Nicholas & Assoc. answered questions from the Board regarding the data and referendums. The Board will be reviewing all the data and decide if they would like to go for a referendum. If the Board would like to go for a referendum in the November 2024 election, it will need to be voted on prior to August 19, 2024.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Ms. Steketee, second by Mr. Marren, to adjourn the August 1, 2024, special meeting of the Board of Education at 7:32 p.m.
