City of Red Bud Parks and Recreation Commission met Aug. 7.
Here are the minutes provided by the commission:
Members present: Tim Fahey, Wil Krick, Deb Opel, Terri Reed,
Members absent: Jim Birke, Kyle Herriman, Ryan Koudela, Brad Mayberry, and Winnie Rehmer
Others Present: Kyle Donjon and Rodney Nevois
The meeting was called to order by Tim Fahey at 6:00 PM at Ratz Pavilion in Ratz Park.
We did not have a quorum so the meeting was discussion only.
SPLASH PAD
• Rodney Nevois gave an update on the progress of Splash Pad. There will be a water softener installed. Mohr Plumbing received that bid. Robert Schumacher has the landscape contract. Will be planting as soon as limestone paving rock is installed, Still planning for a completing date of September 30 or before. Project on budget.
• Discussion of sun screens for benches around the Splash Pad. Tim will be getting a couple of bids. Rodney told the committee he thought he could build the sunscreens to match the bathhouse. He will get a sketch for Tim. Will wait to decide where to put sunscreens.
POOL
• Darrell Salger Painting and Staining has been told by Josh to hold off on painting the pool house. No reason given.
LINCOLN PARK
• Pads have not been poured around the flagpole for new benches.
RATZ PARK
• Tim reported that the new flake floor finish has been installed. Small sign to let people know who installed has not been installed. Tim will try to get an estimate to finish Lincoln Park bathrooms with the same flooring.
• Paths need new mulch.
• Beam on the far side starting to fall into the creek. Needs taken out and replaced.
• Jim Birke painted the merry-go-round in Bums Jungle. Thank you Jim.
• Winnie will get bids for a new sign at the entrance of Ratz Park. Thank you Winnie.

Committee Members present toured the Splash Pad. Very pleased and happy with the project.
