City of Red Bud Recreational Facilities Committee met Sept. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Kyle Donjon, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois, Alan Piel, Jeremy DeMond

Committee Members Absent: None

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker

Council Members Absent: None

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rick Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart Code Admin/City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Officer Jill Landgraf, Finance Officer Liz Cowell, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Donjon called the meeting to order at 6:42 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – August 19, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member DeMond to approve the minutes from the August 19, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. Muskets Homecoming Requests – October 10-13, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to authorize approval of the Musket Homecoming request for October 10-13, 2024, as presented. Carried

III. YMCA Pool Report

The YMCA pool report through August 31, 2024, was discussed. This is a preliminary report, but it looks like the pool had a deficit of $35,000. The final report is due November 1, 2024. Rheinecker questioned Eckart on what major pool repairs are expected over the winter. Eckart said that he, Mayor Harbaugh, and Jill Landgraf will be visiting the pool and creating a list of anticipated pool repairs to present to the committee. There is a continued sand issue. Landgraf has asked the YMCA to also make a list of anticipated repairs needed.

IV. Ratz Park Renovation Project - Update

Code Admin./City Engineer Mueller noted that everything has been installed but needs some fine tuning. Fencing installation will begin tomorrow. The deck needs sealing. Mueller feels comfortable that the project will meet its required completion date.

V. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None
