Tamaroa Grade School District 5 Board of Education met Sept. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

BUDGET HEARING

ROLL CALL: Present – Charles Stein, Misty Doerflein, Sherri Phillips, Mackenzie Lively, Devan Downard, Alaina Marlow

Absent- Phillip Catt Visitors – Marilyn Pestka of the Village of Tamaroa Board, Sarah Copus, PreK Instructor

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Mackenzie Lively to adjourn.

Six in favor, none opposed.

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

ROLL CALL: Present – Charles Stein, Misty Doerflein, Sherri Phillips, Mackenzie Lively, Devan Downard, Alaina Marlow

Absent- Phillip Catt Visitors – Kerri Schoenbacher, Operations and Maintenance Director/AD, Marilyn Pestka of the Village of Tamaroa Board, Sarah Copus, PreK Instructor

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Mackenzie Lively to approve the Minutes of August Meeting (Open & Closed).

Six in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Sherri Phillips to approve the Payment of Bills.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Mackenzie Lively to approve the Treasurer’s Report.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Sherri Phillips to enter into Closed Session for the purpose of appointment, employment, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees at 6:29pm.

Six in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Sherri Phillips to exit Closed Session at 6:47pm. Six in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Alaina Marlow to Authorize the President and Secretary to execute a Line of Credit up to $250,000 for Debt Service on Obligated Services with DuQuoin State Bank with an interest rate of 4.50% for six months to cover these expenses until the tax levy money has been distributed to the school funds. The Board authorizes a minimum of three persons to make draws, with two of the three signatures required to make a draw. This will include:

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Devan Downard to approve School Improvement Plan.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Alaina Marlow to approve the Bullying Policy. Six in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Mackenzie Lively, second by Sherri Phillips to approve the Threat Assessment Plan.

Six in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Misty Doerflein, second by Devan Downard to approve a Technology Stipend in the amount of $1,000 to Alicia Eisenhauer for School Year 24-25.

The next Board of Education Meeting is set for October 15th, 2024 at 6:00pm.
