Auburn Community Unit School District 10 Board met Sept. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the special meeting of the Auburn Board of Education on September 23, 2024: Present: Jeff Miller, Lynde Pavich, Jamie Kuhlmann, Michael Bates, and Josh Smith. Absent: Carl Kessler and Brad Smith. Also present: Darren Root, Landon Lounsberry and mother of “Student A”.

Bates moved to adopt the agenda. Pavich seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Bates yea             Miller yea

B. Smith absent   Kessler absent

J. Smith yea        Kuhlmann yea

Pavich yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the vice-president declared the motion carried.

Bates moved to enter Closed Session at 7:31 am. Pavich seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Bates yea             Miller yea

B. Smith absent   Kessler absent

J. Smith yea        Kuhlmann yea

Pavich yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the vice-president declared the motion carried.

Board came out of Closed Session at 7:45 am.

J. Smith moved Student “A” attend Crossroad and obtain a psych evaluation before returning to Auburn High School after 6/30/2026. Bates seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Bates yea             Miller yea

B. Smith absent   Kessler absent

J. Smith yea        Kuhlmann yea

Pavich yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the vice-president declared the motion carried.

Bates moved for a 2-year abidance for “Student A”. J. Smith seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Bates yea             Miller yea

B. Smith absent   Kessler absent

J. Smith yea        Kuhlmann yea

Pavich yea

There being 5 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the vice-president declared the motion carried.

Bates moved to adjourn at 7:50 am. J. Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.

The vice-president declared the motion carried.
