A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the City Of Waterloo Finance Department on October 25, 2024. The request, made by SW Illinois News, seeks detailed information about sales tax collected from retailers in the area.
The requested data spans from January 1, 204 till the present day and includes specific fields such as sales tax collected from retailers by month versus projected figures, the number of active retail locations paying sales tax by month, and the names of each retailer along with their gross retail sales reported for each month.
