Chester Community Unit School District 139 Board of Education met Oct. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Chester Community Unit School District No. 139 held a Special Meeting on October 8, 2024, in the High School Family & Consumer Science Classroom. President Debi Caraway called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance

Attorney Caleb Mundorf presented Board Policy 8:30.

Debi Caraway presented public comment guidelines.

Public Comment

● Lynne Gonzalez - Concerns about Mrs. Briggs

● Courtney Alms - Concerns about Mrs. Briggs

● Susan Berner - Concerns about Mrs. Briggs

● Ali Robinson - Concerns about Mrs. Briggs

Malley motioned, Coffey seconded to enter into the executive meeting at 6:23 p.m for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. Roll call vote. Ayes: Caraway, Coffey, Fricke, Malley, Wolff, Krieg, Davitz, Nays: none. Motion carried.

Grade School Principal Timothy Blair entered the executive meeting at 7:53 p.m.

Timothy Blair leaves the executive meeting at 8:13 p.m.

Superintendent Kimberly Briggs entered the executive meeting at 8:17 p.m.

Caraway motioned, Malley seconded to come out of executive session at 8:29 p.m.

Malley motioned, Coffey seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:31 p.m. Upon roll call, all members voted aye. Motion carried.

The next REGULAR MEETING of the Board of Education will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. (Executive Session at 6:00 p.m.) in the Chester High School FACS Classroom (B217) 1901 Swanwick Street, Chester, IL 62233.
