Chester Community Unit School District 139 Board of Education met Nov. 14.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

1. Call to Order and Roll Call - 6:00 p.m.

2. Opportunity for Public Comment

(please be mindful that these meetings of the BOE are required by the Open Meeting Law to be held in a public setting. Each participant will be limited to 5 minutes, which the board will listen to but will not respond during this time.)

3. Executive Session

3.1 For the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.

6. New Business

6.1 Resolution expressing official intent regarding certain capital expenditures to be reimbursed from proceeds of an obligation to be issued by the District.

6.2 Resolution providing for the issue of approximately $1,720,000 General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2024, for the purpose of altering and reconstructing school buildings and purchasing and installing equipment therein for fire prevention and safety, energy conservation and school security purposes, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said bonds to Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated.

6.3 Resolution providing for the issue of approximately $ 6,000,000 General Obligation School Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source), Series 2024B, for the purpose of altering, repairing and equipping school buildings and facilities of the District and improving the sites thereof, providing for the pledge of certain revenues to the payment of principal and interest on said bonds and the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay such principal and interest if the pledged revenues are insufficient to make such payment and authorizing the sale of said bonds to Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated.

6.4 Consider Accepting low, responsive, and responsible bid in relating to the Early Childhood Center Construction contract.
