City of Red Bud Personnel Committee met Nov. 18.

Council Chambers (2nd floor)

Committee Members Present: Curt Guebert, Mike Rheinecker, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: Jeremy DeMond, Alan Piel

Council Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Bill Hanebutt, Rodney Nevois

Council Members Absent: None

Others Present: Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Rebecca Cooper, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin./City Engineer Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Officer Jill Landgraf, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Mayor Harbaugh called the meeting to order at 6:28 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – October 21, 2024

Recommendation made by Committee Member Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve the minutes from the October 21, 2024, meeting. Carried

II. Employee Training

Mayor Harbaugh presented a revised Employee Special Training Request Form for approval and presented Proposal Option 1 – Update the language to allow all training requests to be approved by the Department Head and the Mayor; Proposal Option 2 – Update the language to allow all training requests with expenses up to and including $1,000 be approved by the Department Head and the Mayor. Above $1,000 would require City Council approval. In the event it is time sensitive required training, the mayor may approve without City Council intervention. Council Member Hanebutt suggested that there is a benefit to informing the public of the city’s effort to keep employees well trained. There were no concerns with updating the Employee Special Training Request Form. Do not put on consent agenda.

Recommendation made by Committee Member Donjon, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to authorize approval for the Mayor and Department Heads jointly to approve all training requests, if time does not allow it to be given council approval. Carried

III. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 P.M.
