Sparta Community Hospital District is introducing an 8-Week Winter Wellness Challenge, inviting the community to focus on health and wellness. The program is designed for individuals of all fitness levels and emphasizes personal growth, encouraging participants to set their own goals.
The initiative is led by Courtney Johnson, a Registered Dietitian, and Larry Bernardoni, a Fitness Supervisor. It combines education, nutrition, and fitness to help participants make lifestyle changes. There are no participation fees or special equipment required.
Participants can expect weekly 30-minute wellness education sessions, nutritional and physical challenges, weigh-ins with personalized tracking, BMI tracking at various intervals, one-on-one nutritional consultations, and Physical Assessment Rating (PAR) testing.
The program will run from January 22 through March 12, 2025. Sessions will be held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Group Fitness Room at The Center at North Campus Healthcare. Weigh-ins will begin at 5:00 p.m.
“This program is all about empowering individuals to prioritize their health and make sustainable changes, no matter where they’re starting from,” said Courtney Johnson. “It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress, one step at a time.”
Space for the program is limited. Interested individuals should register by calling Jennifer at 618-443-1467 by January 15, 2025.
