City of Waterloo Beautification Committee met Jan. 6.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Attendance: Chairman: Tina Charron, Committee members: Jim Hopkins, Joel Vogt, Gary Most, Kyle Buettner, Mayor Stan Darter. Others in attendance Nathan Krebel, Roberta Rohwedder, Jim Trantham, Matt Buettner, Mechelle Childers, Shawn Kennedy, J.R. Landeck
Meeting called to order at ??? by Chairman Charron
Agenda Item 1: Petitions by Citizens on Non-Agenda Items: None
Agenda Item 2: Beautification Application for Chantilly Corner-131 W. Mill Street Waterloo, IL. The owner would like to update steps on side of the building and replace the wooden rail with an iron rail. They will fix the top landing of concrete as well to entrance on side of building. Business will need to get a construction easement from the city. Alderman Kyle Buettner made a motion to accept the Beautification Application for Chantilly Corner as is and Alderman Gary Most seconded. All in favor 5-0. Motion passed.
Agenda Item 3: Comments-
• Nathan Krebel updated the committee on JaBowl Restaurants beautification application. Tony Groves would like a six-month extension and believes the project will be completed within that time frame. He is waiting on owners to pick out a new door.
• Nathan Krebel shared with the committee the affidavit will be signed 1-6-25 for Rooted Flower Bar. Their check will be presented at the council meeting 1-6-25.
• Nathan Krebel shared Innovations is close to the 1 year mark with their Beautification Application process. The owner shared they are not going to be able to get all the projects completed and will submit receipts for the front door of Innovations.
Motion to adjourn made by Alderman Joel Vogt, Seconded by Alderman Gary Most. All in favor to adjourn. Chairman Charron adjourned the meeting at 6:30pm.
