Monroe County Board of County Commissioners met Jan. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the commissioners:

The meeting of the County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 8:15 a.m. by Chairman George E. Green.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chairman George E. Green, Commissioner Vicki Koerber and Commissioner Doug Garmer were present

Others present included State's Attorney Ryan Webb, County Clerk Jonathan McLean, Deputy Clerk Kara Etherton, Kermit Constantine from the Republic Times and Sheila Wetzler.

Chairman Green asked for public comments. There were no public comments.

The County Clerk presented the report of invoices of $10,000 or greater that require pre-approval of the Board prior to payment. Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the $10,000+ invoice report. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the December 2024 Payments Report, excluding the County Nursing Home. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the minutes from the Board meetings held on December 2, 2024, December 20, 2024 and the public hearing held on December 20, 2024. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the nursing home accounts payable report. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

County Clerk Jonathan McLean requested that final approval of the Ordinance to Amend the Predictable Fee Schedule for the County Recorder's Office be moved to the next Board meeting. There was a last- minute update made to the fee schedule relating to Federal tax liens. The County Clerk reposted the updated fee schedule on January 6, 2025 and the Board can take action at the meeting on January 21, 2025. Commissioner Koerber made a motion to move this item to the January 21, 2025 Board meeting. Second by Commissioner Garmer.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the Ordinance to Amend the County Code, Section 1- 4-8 Regarding Claims. Second by Commissioner Garmer. Commissioner Koeber requested that we revisit this matter in six months to discuss changes as it pertains to payable reports. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Ordinance #25-1

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve a resolution for participation in the service program of the Office of the State's Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #25-1

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to reappoint Walter Wetzel, Jr., to the Monroe County Regional Planning Commission for a term of three years to commence on January 1, 2025, and expire on December 31, 2027. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #25-2

As there was no need for a closed session, Commissioner Koerber made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Second by Commissioner Garmer. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion Carried.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:49 a.m. The next Board meeting will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
