Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met Jan. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. A regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M. on January 16, 2025

2. The President called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Paul Nehrkorn, Justin Martin, Michael Porter, Gideon Hutchcraft, were present. Aaron Johnson and Austin Marlow were absent. Also present were the following people: Brian Pasero, Mark Rohlfing, Brittany McConachie, Tyson Tanner.

5. Consent Agenda - A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Martin to approve the Consent agenda Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No- 0. Motion carried.

6. Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

6.1 Public comment - None

7. Old Business

7.1 Fund Transfer (repayment): A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Martin to approve the Resolution R2025-7, authorizing a repayment to fund Working Cash from fund Tort in the sum of $100,000. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No 0. Motion carried.

8.1 Freedom of Information - Informational

8.2 Kindergarten Screening Dates- A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Porter to approve March 7, 2025 as the screening date for our incoming Kindergarten students. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes-5 No-0. Motion carried.

8.3 Board Meeting Dates. A motion was made by Martin and seconded by Porter to approve the 2025 Regular Board Meeting Dates as presented. Yes-5 No-0

8.4 HVAC (phase 4). A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve putting documents out for bid for the HVAC-phase 4 project as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes-5 No-0. Motion carried.

8.5 Jr. High parking Lot - A motion was made by Porter and seconded by Martin to approve putting documents out for bid for the Jr. High Parking Lot project as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No -0. Motion carried.

8.6 Jr. High Gym Roof - A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Porter to approve putting documents out for bid for the Jr. High Gym Roof project as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

10. Action items

10.1 Six-month Executive session review - A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve Resolution R2025-8, authorizing the destruction of audio recordings of the closed meetings of the Pinckneyville School District #50, Perry and Washington counties, Illinois, conducted on or before June 30, 2023. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No - 0. Motion carried.

11. Announcements, dates and events:

Friday January 17: 1230 dismissal SIP day

Monday January 20; No School

Thursday Feb. 20 School board meeting

Friday Feb. 14 SIP day 1230 dismissal

Monday Feb. 17 no School Presidents day

12. Adjournment: A motion was made by Nehrkorn and seconded by Porter to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Yes- Porter, Pursell, Nehrkorn, Hutchcraft, Martin. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.
