City of Waterloo Ordinance Committee met May 5.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Petitions by Citizens on Non-Agenda Items – None
2. Approval of Previous 4-21-25 Ordinance Committee Meeting Minutes – Not available for review
3. Mobile Venders – The Committee talked about an update to the mobile vendors at the April 21 meeting. It was decided to update the ordinance to add the Monroe County Fairgrounds and the Monroe County Farmers Market to the list of sanctioned events in ordinance 1906. Alderman Gary Most makes a motion to give the council a favorable recommendation on the updated ordinance. Alderman Jim Hopkins seconded the motion. All members are in favor.
4. Committee Meeting – City Clerk. – The Committee discussed adding the City Clerk to all the committees in ordinance 1907. The purpose of adding the city clerk to every meeting is to expand the city clerk’s responsibility by taking minutes at all of the committee meetings. Currently, the chair of the committee runs the meeting and takes the minutes. Now the City Clerk will receive $75 for every committee meeting with a maximum of 12 stipend payments per calendar quarter. Alderman Gary Most made the motion to recommend to the ordinance change to the council. Alderman Jim Hopkins seconded the motion. All committee members in favor.
5. Comments – Mayor Stan Darter expressed an interest in looking into the ordinance pertaining to the amount of gaming licenses allowed within the City of Waterloo. It will be discussed at the utility meeting on May 12, 2025.
Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Alderman Gary Most, Seconded Jim Hopkins. All members in favor, meeting adjourned at 7:15pm.
