I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – April 21, 2025
Recommendation made by Committee Member Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Nevois to approve the minutes from the April 21, 2025, meeting. Carried
II. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
Eckart noted that the Ratz Park parking lot has been striped. Trost Plastics is scheduled for the first part of June to install the dumpster enclosure.
Committee Member Nevois asked about the one water feature not working; is it not under warranty? Jeff Mueller said that it was a solenoid issue, which is about a $70 item. Nevois suggested that a letter needs to be written to Vortex. Committee Member Hanebutt questioned how much has been spent above the original budget. Jeff estimated about $4,000. Vortex’s contract was directly with the city, not under the general contractor. Jeff said that in his conversations with the city attorney, it would not be cost effective to try to recoup these costs from Vortex. Jeff stated that there were five individual contracts directly with the city for the splash pad project and he will never have that again.
Committee Member Hanebutt questioned why the city hired a company to stripe the Ratz Park parking lot when the city had just bought a striper. Eckart said that he did not know; that it was just part of the bid.
Mayor Harbaugh noted that the pool will open on Saturday, May 24th, with quite a kickoff this year and she welcomes everyone to attend the grand opening and is praying for good weather.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:36 P.M.
