Sparta Community Hospital District has announced the promotion of Paul Mueller to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mueller, who has been with the hospital since 2006, has held various leadership roles such as Controller, Director of Financial Services, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Financial Strategy.

In his new role as COO, Mueller will oversee Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory Services, and Rehabilitation Services. He will also lead special projects and support the overall management of the organization. His responsibilities are expected to expand over time to include more departments and initiatives. Additionally, he will act as a point of contact in the absence of the CEO.

Mueller is originally from Steeleville and is actively involved in community activities. He coaches a Sparta-based select softball team and serves as an assistant coach for Steeleville Junior High and High School softball teams. In his leisure time, he enjoys outdoor activities on his farm.
