I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – June 16, 2025
Recommendation made by Committee Member Nevois, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to approve the minutes from the June 16, 2025, meeting. Carried
II. Pool Post Season Plan
Superintendent Eckart outlined options regarding the sand issue at the pool. From the study which Ehret did, there is settlement under the piping. Do we fix the area we know is the problem or do we remove all the decking around the pool? When backwash procedures were done, the basement flooded. Eckart suspects that the shut off valve from the pool had something in it and now it is holding, and that additional pipe work is needed in the basement. The pump filter is obsolete, and filters are no longer available. The person Ehret sent to do the camera study has a background in pools. The cast iron drains in the deck may need to be addressed. Superintendent Eckart will work on getting options/quotes together for the August committee meeting. Committee Member Nevois suggested that an above ground pool house may be a better option than the basement pit, if a more modern system is needed. This would make it easier to work on.
Mayor Harbaugh gave a report on the increase in passes and parties booked at the pool this year. She thanked Karla Landgraf for her efforts managing the pool this season.
Thoughts of keeping the pool open on weekends until Labor Day were considered, but with the sand issues, the original closing date of the pool will be honored.
Karla Landgraf did say that the Carlyle pool is about the same age as Red Bud’s and they have replaced the decking. She thought it might be worth contacting them to see what issues they had.

City Engineer Mueller said he needs help with planning and specs for the OSLAD Lincoln Park grant request and asked that the city proceed with a time and materials NTE $3,500 contract with Farnsworth.
