David Friess, Illinois State Representative for 115th District | Official Website
Illinois State Representative David Friess has expressed his condolences following the death of former Governor Jim Edgar. Friess recognized Edgar's leadership and service to Illinois, stating, "I am saddened to learn of the passing of former Governor Jim Edgar. His leadership and lifelong commitment to public service have left a lasting impact on Illinois."
Friess also noted his connection to the late governor through participation in the Edgar Fellows Program. "As a member of the Edgar Fellows Program, I am honored to be part of the legacy he built in mentoring and inspiring future leaders to put good governance and civility first," he said.
He concluded by offering support to those mourning Edgar's loss: "My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who knew and admired him."
Friess, a Republican, was elected in 2023 to represent Illinois' 115th House District, succeeding Nathan Reitz.
