The Carbondale Planning Commission approved a request for rezoning from Sorensen Enterprises at its recent meeting.
The change was from a R-1-12, low-density residential to a planned unit development that would be located on West Charles Road and North Iowa Road. Commission members discussed potential impacts on lighting, storm water requirements and parking.
The commission informed the owner of the company, Lasse Sorensen, that he would be required to submit a final plan for sites that are within the codes of the city. Sorensen was present at the meeting, but did not present information regarding the request.
There was also a presentation from staff members regarding the request. All commission members voted to recommend the measure in front of the city council.
