During its meeting earlier this week, the Waterloo, Illinois City Council considered a street closure request from the Waterloo Lions Club for the closure of Mill Street (Market to Main), Main Street (Mill to Third) and Third Street (Main to Market) for their Annual Car Show to be held April 24.
A number of reports were also reviewed during the meeting. The collector, the treasurer, the zoning administrator, the director of public works, the chief of police, the city attorney and the mayor discussed their individual reports. The mayor also put forth the reappointment of Leonard Loerch to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a five-year term, which would expire in February 2021.
The Standing Committees as well as the Special Committees presented their reports. Then there were the presentations of communications, petitions, resolutions, orders and ordinances by the aldermen.
The meeting also considered action on a Raffle License Request and Waiver of Bond from the Monroe County Retail Liquor Association for a raffle to be held on the second Monday of each month from March 2016 through March 2017.
The council also reviewed the procedures and schedule for the adoption of the annual budget for Fiscal Year May 1 through April 2017.
