Others Present: Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray. City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, City Clerk Joanne Cowell
Committee Chairman Nail called the meeting to order at 8:16 P.M.
Old Business
I. Power Plant
Business is as usual. IMEA & BHMG will be conducting the annual urge testing on June 23-24.
II. Safe Routes to School Update and Right of Way Documents
The engineering and easement paperwork is finished and the construction agreements will be on the May council agenda.
III. Retention Tank Update
Attorney Ray reported that the insurance company determined that there is no coverage for this and he feels that the city will not recover any damages, but only spend more money.
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Linnertz, to not pursue this any further and not spend any more money on this. Carried
IV. Mediacom Pole Agreement
Attorney Ray is still waiting on Mediacom legal department to return the final agreement.
V. Budget FY’17
Nothing
VI. West Line Water Main Extension Project
No updates
VII. Water and Sewer Rates
No changes now, will keep on agenda
New Business
I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Nail, seconded by Committee Member Donjon to approve the minutes from the March 29, 2016 meeting. Carried
II. Illinois Department of Labor Update
Eckart said IDOL had visited the water, sewer and streets departments and there were some citations, but no fines. Eckart is making corrections and submitting pictures of proof back to IDOL. The electric and gas departments will also be checked by IDOL.
III. Sewer Plant Repairs Update
Eckart updated the committee on issues with the sewer plant repairs.
IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
Eckart said there is an issue with the sidewalk at Ratz Park washing out. They will be checking to see what repairs are needed. There is also an issue with Locust St. breaking up as a result of there being no base in the street and it is on the repair list.
Attorney Ray said the Lazenby easements will be on the May agenda.
