Red Bud City Council hires crossing guard

The Red Bud City Council met Dec. 5 to hire a crossing guard.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the council:

Red Bud is governed by an aldermanic form of government. Along with the mayor, city clerk and treasurer, there are eight council members elected to four-year terms.

The City Council of Red Bud, Randolph County, Illinois met on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at Red Bud City Hall, City Council Chambers.

Members Present: Clem Esker, Mike Reed, Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, David Friess, Kyle Donjon, Clarence Nail

Members Absent: Mayor Tim Lowry, Don Thompson

Others Present: City Attorney Paul Ray, City Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Administrative Assistant Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Motion made by Council Member Reed, seconded by Council Member Linnertz to approve the Financial Statements as presented and file for audit. The vote was as follows: Esker, aye; Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Nail, aye. Motion carried.

VI. Approval of Estimated and Listed Bills

Motion made by Council Member Reed, seconded by Council Member Linnertz, to approve the estimated and listed bills. The vote was as follows: Reed, aye; Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Nail, aye; Esker, aye. Motion carried.

D. Employee Holiday Gift Certificates (Finance)

Approval for purchase and distribution of holiday gift certificates for December, 2016, as presented

E. Crossing Guard Position (Public Health and Safety)

Approval to hire Peggy Sauer as crossing guard at the normal rate of pay ($10.74), pending the results of the physical and drug testing

F. Concrete Program Request (Public Works)

Approval of the request from William Ratz to participate in the curb and sidewalk program on the north, east and south side of 1019 Veteran St.

G. 2016 Holiday Lighting Coupon (Public Works)

Approval of the 2016 $10 Residential Holiday Lighting Coupon

Motion made by Council Member Nail seconded by Council Member Donjon, to approve under the omnibus designation, the consent agenda items A through H. The vote was as follows: Hanebutt, aye; Linnertz, aye; Friess, aye; Donjon, aye; Nail, aye; Esker, aye; Reed, aye. Motion carried.

H. YMCA Invoice for Swimming Pool 2016 Season (Parks & Recreation)

Approval to pay invoice to YMCA in the amount of $9,597.00 for the 2016 pool season management

a. Transfer $80,000, plus Interest From Grant Account to Water Capital Plan Account

Motion made by Council Member Nail, seconded by Council Member Reed, to approve the transfer of $80,000, plus interest from the water line grant account to the water capital plan account. b. Authorization to Close Grant Account at Dieterich Bank Motion made by Council Member Nail, seconded by Council Member Linnertz, to approve the closing of the water line grant account at Dieterich Bank.
