Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) is hoping the crowds that came to southern Illinois to see the recent solar eclipse are just the beginning.
According to his website, Fowler is putting together a collection of YouTube videos on places in the 59th District that visitors should see, including sites in Hardin, Alexander, Johnson, Saline, Williamson and Franklin counties.
Fowler also got together with mayors from three towns in Hardin County to talk about ways the Ohio River could bring in more visitors.

Fowler thanked the Illinois State Police and police forces in the Illinois towns in his district for their work in making sure people could watch the eclipse on Aug. 21 safely.
Fowler also expressed optimism on the state public school funding formula, saying he expected a compromise to ensure that all schools throughout the state get equal treatment.
