Analysis: Columbia pays $3.50 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Columbia Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.8 percent of the $450,050 the Columbia Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.50 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Columbia contributed $350,251 to the fund, which saw a $2,711 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $99,799, or 22.2 percent, in 2016.
