Randolph County Board of Commissioners met February 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Chairman Ronald G White called the meeting of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners to order at 9:00 am on February 9, 2018 at the Boardroom.

Pledge:

The meeting started with the Pledge Of Allegiance. The pledge was led by Katie Cayo.

Roll Call:

Attendance taken at 9:00: Ronald G White, Present: David Holder, Present: Marc Kiehna, Present.

Approval Of Prior Minutes:

After reviewing the minutes from the previous meeting, Marc Kiehna made a motion to approve prior commission minutes dated 1/26/2018 9:00 am. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

Randolph County Highway Department:

A resolution was presented to award a construction project in Road District #1. The low bid was submitted by Red Dot Construction & Equipment Rentals Inc. in the amount of $457,173.80.

Motion/Vote-Highway Department Resolution:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to accept resolution no. 18-02 and award the bid to the lowest bidder. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Marc Kiehna (Yes), David Holder (Yes), Ronald G White (Yes).

The Highway Department claims were presented for consideration

Motion/Vote - Highway Department Claims:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to allow and pay all claims as presented. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

General Assistance:

The claims from the General Assistance Office were presented and reviewed, with accounts payable totaling $500.00.

Motion/Vote - General Assistance Claims:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to allow and pay all claims as presented. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

Care Center:

The claims from the Care Center were presented for consideration.

Motion/Vote - Care Center Claims:

David Holder made a motion to allow and pay all claims as presented. Marc Kiehna seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

Health Department:

Randolph County Health Department presented the claims and held a general discussion with the Board on the current operations of the department.

Motion/Vote - Health Department Claims:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to allow and pay all claims as presented. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

Claims:

The claims against the County were presented for review.

Motion/Vote – Claims:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to allow and pay all claims as presented. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote.

Farm Lease:

A cash farm lease for the County's Anna Wehrheim Brown property was presented for approval The lessor is McCormick Farms of Ellis Grove and the term is March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2021. The agreement is 56 acres of cropland at $176.00 per acre to be paid annually.

Motion/Vote-Farm Lease:

David Holder made a motion to approve the lease terms as presented. Marc Kiehna seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: David Holder (Yes), Marc Kiehna (Yes), Ronald G White (Yes).

Assessment Resolution:

A resolution was presented for a Real Property Tax Assessment Settlement Agreement between The Manor at Craig Farms, LP and the County.

Motion/Vote-Assessment Resolution:

Marc Kiehna made a motion to accept resolution no. 18-03 as presented. David Holder seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote: Marc Kiehna (Y es), David Holder (Yes), Ronald G White (Yes).

Recess:

There being no further business to come before the Board, David Holder made a motion to recess this meeting until 2/23/2018. Marc Kiehna seconded the motion. The motion passed by vote. This meeting recessed at 9:30 am.
