Sparta Public Library Board met April 12.

The April 2, 2018 meeting of the Sparta Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by President Domenica McDonald in the main study area at 7:05 p. m.
Members Present: Anne Bourner, Domenica McDonald, Richard Cavalier, Peggy Petkas, John Clendenin, Robert Taylor and Steven Gerlach
Absent: Don Adams and Amy Kloos
Others Present: Susan Colbert, Library Director
Minutes
The minutes of the February 5, 2018 meeting were reviewed. It was moved by Richard Cavalier and seconded by John Clendenin to accept the minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence
None
Treasurer’s Report—Anne Bourner
The Treasurer’s report for each fund for the month of March 2018 was reviewed by the Board. It was moved by John Clendenin and seconded by Peggy Petkas to accept each of the reports. The motion carried unanimously.
The bills for March 2018 were reviewed by the Board. It was moved by Steven Gerlach and seconded by Richard Cavalier to pay the bills presented and other regular monthly bills that come after the meeting date. The motion carried unanimously.
Librarian’s Report—Susan Colbert
1. It was recommended that the Library Director join ARSL, the Association for Rural and Small Libraries. Anne Bourner moved and Peggy Petkas seconded that the Board pay for attending the September meeting. The Board will pay for travel, room, meals and the $49.00 membership dues for the Library Director. The motion carried unanimously.
2. Richard Cavalier moved and Bob Taylor seconded that the Board replace our printer with one that will meet our needs. The motion carried unanimously.
Anne Bourner moved and Bob Taylor seconded that the Librarian’s Report be accepted. The motion carried unanimously.

New Business
The Board is unhappy with how clean the floors are. We request that the cleaning lady mop the floors each night of service.
It was moved by Bob Taylor and seconded by Steven Gerlach to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
Next meeting will be June 4, 2018.
